A Typical Day Sail aboard Bravura in the BVIs
All of our day sail adventures are private charters. Only you, your friends or family are onboard. This means that you can shape the day to suit your desires and tastes. There is no standard day sail itinerary. Rather, along with your Captain, you decide which islands you would like to visit, how long you would like to stay, what meals and beverages you would like to have to complement your day sail adventure. It’s your holiday – you choose your experience.
Whether you choose to start your day sail of the BVIs at our dock in Leverick Bay, on the beautiful North Sound, or have us come to your resort, the full day sail is about eight hours while the half day is around five. The day sails outlined below are illustrative only and can be shaped to fit your needs and desires.
A Full Day Sailing aboard Bravura
Welcome Aboard 8:30 – 9:00 a.m.
Come aboard for a starter drink of coffee, tea, mimosa, bloody mary or other cocktail of your choice. Plan the day with your skipper and get underway.
Next Hour and a Half to Three Hours
Sail the beautiful Drake Channel, stopping at the Baths, or the Dog Islands, or sailing on to Cooper Island or Peter Island. The bar is open so imbibe in the drinks of your choice including our signature “Bravura Bash,” a tropical delight.
Anchor in a Protected Cove
While you snorkel the fish-filled reefs or walk on a white sand beach, your crew will prepare your lunch which will be served alfresco style in Bravura’s spacious cockpit under a broad sun shade. Stay as long as you want before we resume our day sail and exploration of the beautiful BVIs.
Afternoon Sailing
Depending on the length of the morning sail and the lunch interlude the afternoon portion of our day sail can be one long sail back to Virgin Gorda or include a second stop. How you shape your day depends on how much sailing you want to do. As always, the bar is open and your crew will be happy to create the beverage of your choice to accompany the late afternoon snack.
Harbor Lights
The sun is beginning to sink into the western sky as we make one last tack and conclude our day sail experience. We can sail back to your resort, or sail up to North Sound and see Necker Island, the Bitter End Resort, Biras Creek, and the colorful Leverick Bay Marina and Beach Resort. Where you start your day sail of the BVIs does not dictate where you end it, as ground transportation is available.A Half-Day Sailing aboard Bravura
Start your day sail of the BVIs either in the morning or afternoon. Typical morning day sails start at 8:30am or 9:00am and conclude at 1:30pm. The afternoon day sails start at noon and conclude about 5:00pm. Your choice of either breakfast or lunch is included in the price, as is our open bar. Depending upon your desires, and, of course, the wind, we can visit the Baths, the Dog Islands, Cooper Island, or Great Camanoe. We can start at your resort or at our dock in the beautiful Leverick Bay Marina and can conclude our day sail adventure at either place.
